Our instructors have accumulated 30 years of experience in critical care echocardiography and ultrasound (4 DDU holders, 1 Paediatric Congenital Echocardiography Diploma). They are active users of echocardiography and ultrasound in their daily clinical management of  patients with a wide range of critical illnesses from severe sepsis, major trauma, cardiothoracic and vascular diseases to critically ill children.

The course aims to introduce basic sonoanatomy of the heart, lung, abdominal aorta, central venous and peripheral deep vessels. Also included are: basic machine knobology, standard views and measurements of the related structures. Participants will  learn about common artefacts and pitfalls in image acquisition and how to troubleshoot difficulties in image acquisition. Participants will  also learn about basic reporting and how to use the ultrasound findings for their clinical practice and guide resuscitation during cardiorespiratory compromise.
